Batlow Bees n Berries

Batlow Bees n Berries is a small family run business in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.

 

It all started when we planted some raspberries.  Batlow is perfect for berries; there used to be lots.  To make sure we had great pollination we bought a beehive, or three...then 15, then 20, then 60!  Now we have beautiful, natural, unheated honey to sell  and fresh raspberries, blackberries and boysenberries from December to March at local markets.

Of course there's lots of extra berries so we make delicious jam....Oh, and wax from the bees so we also make beeswax wraps and lip balms...

 

While we are not organic we use minimal chemicals, in fact once the new canes poke through the soil in spring we don't spray with anything for the whole season. We don't want to eat chemicals, and we're sure you don't want to either..
